History

A single suggestion can make history, such is the case with the DJISMUN. Less than ten years ago, the DJISMUN was not even a notion; however, when a student, awestruck with a family member’s accomplishments at an MUN conference, approached the Principal with the idea of attending the DIAMUN (Dubai International Academy Model United Nations), hoping that one day she would attend, the unexpected happened. The doors for an MUN conference at DJIS were opened, and from that point on, the DJISMUN has been a source of great pride and accomplishments. Each year, the DJISMUN Executive Board ensures that the conference themes are about imperative and relevant topics of the modern world:

Ever since the first DJISMUN, the event has kept on developing year by year, expanding until it welcomed other schools aboard. With the expansions came modifications to the committees each MUN supported. 

The Model United Nations at DJIS has seen great success and advancement in its previous years. To uphold this continuous flow of achievement, this year’s Secretary Generals have put in a tremendous effort to create an enriching, memorable, and unparalleled MUN experience for all.
